Give without expecting a return. Luke 6:35
The concept that good deeds would be rewarded and bad deeds punished is not what it is supposed to be, rather, our intentions/actions attracts your rewards.
God the Rewarder?
There is no force or power spiritually to reward your good behavior or punish your bad deeds. Because spiritually, you attract what you radiate through your Thought-Emotion Factor. This is the closest interpretation to Karma. God the rewarder is an automatic spiritual process which response to your action or inaction.
How Rewards are automatically processed spiritually.
When you gift or offer hep to someone in need, it is not the act that is rewarded. Rather, the intention or thought of giving to fulfil a need and the emotional feel or push to make another soul change its state of survival, living or action is what activates the universal consciousness of “changing ones circumstances” intention and hook the thread that you unconsciously spung (at that very moment of taking action) to similar states or homogenous species spiritually. This is what automatically make help available to you in various dimensions of life.
This Karmic Cycle is what is perceived to as being rewarded whereas, spiritually, it is what you give out that attracts similar forces to you. And the subsequent action of giving based on the Thought-Emotion Factor is what Christ explained concerning the Widow’s mite Luke 21:3.
When it appears like help is not reciprocated.
When you are expecting a reward, you attract souls that would expect something from you before you are given help or anything. And consequently, when you have nothing to offer, the help thread dries off and you are ignored. This gives the impression that people appear to not being rewarded for the help they offered.
However, if your gift was genuinely to enhance a life, your own path in life would be smoother as various spiritual mechanism would be activated to enhance your life journey (unknowingly to you).
The Urge to Give
Whenever you feel the urge to offer help or give to fulfil a purpose or need. Make the intention and convert it to action. There is a spiritual interplay in that urge, working in your favour. Just do it.
